10 Days Uganda Birding Tour.

Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe Airport

Our office staff / driver will welcome you at Entebbe Airport at the start of the 10 Days Uganda Birding Safari. Drive to your hotel for check-in, and after you will be transferred to Entebbe Botanical Gardens for bird watching. The garden hosts a variety of water and woodland bird species among which include: The Pink-backed Pelican, Yellow White-eye, Purple – banded Sunbird, Lesser Jacana, Malachite Kingfisher, Splendid Starling, Little Sparrowhawk, Great Blue Turaco, Shikra, Ross’s Turaco, and Pied Kingfisher. Day 2: Entebbe – Murchison Falls National Park (6 hours drive)

After your early morning breakfast, transfer to Murchison Falls National Park through the Kampala – Gulu high way and also drive through Masindi town. After lunch you will start your bird watching at the northern bank and expect to see beautiful bird’s species like Pel’s Fishing Owl, Red-winged Grey Warbler, Rock Pratincole, African Darter, Abyssinian Ground-hornbill, and rare Shoebill Stork. Day 3: Bird Watching to the Delta and Bottom of Falls

You will be taken to the starting point of your boat cruise to the delta. This is where Victoria Nile Meets Lake Albert and it will take you 4-5 hours to and from. On your way, you will encounter very many beautiful and rare bird species like Shoebill, Saddle-billed Stork, Common Ringed Plover, Pied Kingfisher, Whiskered Tern, Secretary Bird, Osprey, Yellow-billed Stork , White-faced Whistling Duck and Abdim’s Stork. Later after lunch you will go for another bird watching to the bottom of falls using the boat and you will see birds like African Darter, Goliath Heron, African Fish Eagle, Red-throated Bee-eater Swallow-tailed, Grey heron and Egyptian Goose. Day 4: Murchison Falls – Kaniyo Pabidi (2 hours drive)

This day starts by bird watching in the morning at the vast savannah in the northern bank where you will see birds like Secretary bird, Denham’s Bustard, White-crested Turaco, Bruce’s Green-pigeon. Please if you have not seen your favorite; tell them to your birding guide. After lunch proceed to Kaniyo Pabidi known as Budongo Forest for another round up of bird watching and you will see other bird species like Puvel’s Illaposis, Chocolate Backed Kingfisher, White thighed Hornbill, yellow-footed flycatcher, and the Ituri batis among other many birds. Day 5: Bird Watching at the Royale Mile

This bird watching trail is located inside Budongo forest, 739sqkm wide and lies in the famous Albertine Rift Corridor. This is amazing bird watching point for the whole day in this corridor, it gives you chance to spot various species like White-fronted Bee-eater, Grey Crowned crane, White-chinned Prinia, Olive-bellied Sunbird, and Striped Kingfisher. Day 6: Kaniyo Pabidi – Kibale National Park (9 hours drive)

Transfer to Kibale National Park after your breakfast in the morning for the whole day .One of the largest forests in Uganda, with 60 species of mammals and 335 species of birds recorded. Also known as a home to over 1,000 individuals of chimpanzees and other 12 species of primates. Overnight at Primate Lodge Kibale Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Day 7: Bird watching at Kibale National Park

This day is interesting because we shall have bird watching for the whole day in this park   believed to have most concentration of primates in the world and also a home of beautiful birds like Shinning-blue Kingfisher, Green-breasted Pitta, Crested Guinea Fowl, African Pitta, African crowned Eagle, Ayres’s Hawk, Cassin’s Spinetail, Blue-headed Bee-eater, Nahan’s Francolin, Masked Apalis, White-naped Pigeon, Crowned Eagle, Red-chested Owlet among other birds.. Day 8: Bird Watching at Bigodi Wetland

This morning is dedicated for the bird watching at Bigodi wetland sanctuary is one of the many amazing wetlands to visit in Uganda. It is found within Magombe swamp along the Kibale national park boundaries and it is a home of over 200 bird species including Great blue Turaco ,Papyrus Gonolek,  White-faced Scops-owl,  African fish Eagle, Martial Eagle, Brown-throated wattle-eye, and  Superb sunbird. Later in the afternoon rest at leisure in your hotel. Overnight at Kibale Forest Camp Meal Plan: Breakfast, and Dinner.

Day 9: Kibale National Park – Semuliki National Park (2 hours drive)

This park is an extension of the Ituri Forest and is one of Africa’s youngest national parks. It has more than 400 species of birds, making it one of the best sites for forest birding in Africa. Semuliki National Park is a birding destination not to be missed and your most welcomed to see bird species like Congo Serpent Eagle, Long-tailed Hawk, Nkulengu Rail, Black-wattled Horn bill, and Lyre-tailed Honey Guide. Spos-breased Ibis, Hartlab’s Duck, Chestnut-flanked Goshwak, Red-thighed Sparrow Hawk, Long-tailed Hawk, Forest Francolin. Western Bronze-Naped Pigeon, Black Collared Lovebird, Yellow –throated Cuckoo, Red Chested Owlet, Bates’ Nightjar, Chocolate-backed. Overnight at Ntoroko Game Lodge Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Day 10: Semuliki National Park – Entebbe Airport / Out

Transfer to Entebbe airport after your breakfast through Mbarara town where you will have en-route lunch and a stopover at Equator. Later drive to Entebbe Airport.
