Mount Karisimbi is a strato volcano found in Virunga Mountains on the border between Rwanda and DRC. It’s currently dormant. At 4,507 meters, Karisimbi is the highest of the eight major mountains of the mountain range, which is a part of the Albertine Rift, the western branch of the East African Rift.
