6 Days Gorilla Trekking Bwindi
Day 1: Arrival Entebbe Airport
Upon arrival at the airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our guide who will then take you to Kampala Serena Hotel (High end) or Cassia Lodge (Mid range) or Forest Cottages (Budget end) for an overnight and dinner. Meal plan Dinner
Day 2: Entebbe – Bwindi Impenetrable Forest Tour
Our guide/driver picks you up from your hotel in Entebbe for your transfer to Entebbe International Airport to catch up with a scheduled flight to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest for Gorilla Trekking. You can choose to go with a morning flight or with the afternoon flight. You will enjoy the Ariel view of the beautiful changing Landscape. The flight is only for 2 hours to the lushest highland rain forest on earth, filled with primates and exotic birds, valleys, hilltops and papyrus swamps. On your arrival to either Kihihi or Kisoro Airstrip, you will be transferred with our vehicle to your Lodge. Dinner and overnight stay at either Buhoma Lodge / Mahogany Springs (high end lodge) or Silver back Lodge / Chameleon Hill Lodge (Mid range) or Buhoma community Bandas / Wagtail Eco Camp (Budget facility) Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
Day 3: Gorilla Trekking Bwindi
Begin the day with breakfast ready for gorilla trekking Bwindi, which begins at 8:00 am with a briefing from the UWA staff. Ensure to carry along with you rain jacket, drinking water, snacks, jungle boots etc The guides will lead you inside the jungle to see the shy Primates for a group you have been booked for. Do not forget to take your lunch boxes and all the necessary gear to track the rare Mountain Gorilla, perhaps one of the most exciting wildlife experiences on earth. Gorilla Trekking Bwindi may take between 2 and 6 hours but it’s well worth the effort. The afternoon is spent on a village walk. The Buhoma Village Walk gives you a great opportunity to see how the people surrounding Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. It also is a great way to support the local community in a direct way. The Walk begins with your guide at Buhoma Community Rest Camp and is most informative, rewarding to the average visitor. It will amaze you how resourceful the local people are as you see and learn their ways. Day 4: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest – Queen Elizabeth National Park
After early breakfast head for Ishasha, which is the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, carry out a game drive where you may sight tree-climbing lions. Ishasha is dominated by acacia woodland and scrub land and features the meandering Ishasha River, banked by a riparian forest. After picnic lunch drive all the way to the northern sector of the park. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge (High end Lodge) or Enganzi Lodge (Mid Lodge) or Ihamba Safari Lodge Bandas (Budget Facility) Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
Day 5: Queen Elizabeth National Park Safari
Early morning game drives to see more animals that habit this park, that include predators; lion, Leopard and other game. Over 500 bird species have been identified here, making it a Mecca for bird-watchers. They include the black bee-eater, 11 different species of kingfisher and several falcons, eagles and other raptors. Queen Elizabeth National is one of the most outstanding treasures of Uganda, and has been designated a Biosphere Reserve for Humanity under UNESCO auspices. It borders on Lake George and Lake Edward as well as Kazinga Channel in the western area of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. After lunch take a 2-hour launch cruise on the Kazinga channel. This waterway joins Lakes Edward and George and it is filled with schools of hippos, buffaloes with elephants at the banks. This launch cruise offers an excellent platform for photography, bird watching and game viewing. The prolific bird life is colorful and stupendous with well over 550 resident species. Day 6: Queen Elizabeth to the Airstrip fly back to Entebbe
With previous day’s memories, enjoy your breakfast ready for guided primate walk along Kyambura Gorge to look for habituated chimps through the gorge with birding through the gorge as you will be watching a number of beautiful birds. After primate walk, get on an afternoon flight departing Mweya/Kasese at 1455 arriving 1555 to Entebbe for your onward flight to your next destination. Meal plan: Breakfast & Lunch.
