TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Reservation and Cancellations:
When booking your holiday with African Pearl Safaris, please
quote the tour code, intended date of arrival and departure,
number of people traveling and accommodation options. This
will help ensure that your satisfaction. Gorilla tracking
requires a minimum of 12 weeks prior booking. Pay at least
50% deposit 12 weeks before departure and the balance at least
4 weeks before your arrival date. Gorilla permits are sold
on a “first come first serve” basis. However,
never hesitate to check with us in case of late booking, most
especially when we have special offers running.
NB: Children under 15 are not allowed to trek for Gorillas.
Cancellation:
Cancellation of a tour should occur in advance and in written
form. Full refund will then be effected. However, the client
will meet any costs incurred due to the cancellation such
as bank transfer charges. While hotels generally charge a
50% cancellation within 14-35 days, 75% charge within 2-14
days and 100% charge within 48 hours. UWA will retain the
following percentages on a gorilla permit upon cancellation.
0 – 08 days to tracking date - no refund, 09 –
45 days to tracking date – 75% (25% refund to client),
46 – 90 days to tracking date – 50%, 91 days and
above to tracking date – 25% (75% refund to client).
Travel Insurance:
The client is not covered by any insurance other than that
which is provided by the laws of Uganda. We will not accept
liability for loss, theft, damage or destruction of the client’s
property or possessions however caused.
Liability:
The Company and its agents act only as agents of the guest/
tourist in all matters relating to tours, transport, hotel/accommodation
and shall not be liable for any death, injury or ill ness
caused to the client or any named person on the booking form
unless pro written waiver of liability is received by the
company at the time of payment of the deposit. The laws of
the country in which the tour takes place and no other country
govern the company’s liability to passengers carried
in its own vehicle. All claims are subject to the jurisdiction
of the courts of the country in which the action rises. The
company reserves the right to employ subcontractors to carry
out all or part of the services agreed to supply.
Accommodation:
Based on double-bedded rooms or bandas. Single rooms may be
available with the payment of a supplement fee but cannot
always be guaranteed.
Transport:
Mode of transport to be used will be dependent on the number
of clients and the route taken. English speaking experienced
driver/ guides are provided. All tours start and end in Kampala.
Airport transfers and accommodation in Kampala can be provided
on request.
Tour Price:
The prices quoted for the various itineraries are full board
with ground transportation as per the itinerary, permits where
applicable, entrance fees to National parks and drivers allowances.
The rates are not inclusive of meals and accommodation while
in Kampala, local and international flights, visa fees, traveler’s
insurance, telephone calls, beverages, tips and all personal
expenses. An itinerary may change due to weather conditions
where by the company shall not be held responsible for any
delays caused.
